General President Mark McManus was unanimously re-elected to a second five-year term at the United Association’s 40th General Convention in August 2021. As General President, Mark McManus leads the more than 378,000 hardworking men and women of North America’s most influential mechanical union.
First initiated into Plumbers Local 24, Newark, New Jersey, in 1983, General President McManus has led a long and distinguished career as a union plumber and as a General Officer of the United Association, always putting the best interests of the membership of the United Association – and the best interests of the United Association’s partners and end users – first.
As General President, Mark McManus oversees the day-to-day affairs of the United Association and its internal union governance, and he works diligently to expand and strengthen the United Association’s ranks of skilled craftsmen and women and to expand the United Association’s market share.
Dating back to his time as Business Manager of Plumbers Local 24, General President McManus is quick to act to resolve disputes, strengthen the union he leads, and look out for his fellow union Brothers and Sisters. General President McManus is relentlessly committed to carrying out the United Association’s mission of supplying highly skilled and qualified manpower to its contractors and end users.
Throughout his tenure as General President, Mark McManus has been a steadfast supporter of the union men and women who build the United States and Canada – and he is proud to represent and lead the best trained and most highly skilled craftspeople in the mechanical industry: the men and women of the United Association.
